It is the beginning of India’s most awaited fruit season – the mangoes. The season is yet to start in all it fury and it’s the preparation for the upcoming season that is going on. Getting ready for the same, our team was off to the heart of India’s mango production at Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. The mango business lasts from April and continues till June. This pre-production check was instrumental in evaluating the quality of the product to be launched in the market soon.
On the other hand this trip was an excellent opportunity for our Rotterdam office, which was inaugurated around June, last year to get to know Indian mangoes better. Last year it was feasible for our team to understand and delve into the mango business. But this year Manja de Groot, overseeing international sales (IQF and processed) in Europe, along with Heena overlooking sales in Middle East came over to India to get one-on-one experience of the start of the ‘Great Indian mangoes’.
