Pulses have been known to be part of staple Asian diet. However, in recent years their demand in the western menus has increased. While exploring the market for pulses in Europe, we observed that the demand for pulses was particularity high in United Kingdom. In fact, United Kingdom is the second largest importer of pulses in EU after Italy.
This rise in demand owes to the growing Asian community in UK which is approximately 3 million. The consumption of pulses is expected to rise with awareness spreading about their nutritional content and easy of cooking.
We are currently exporting pulses from Myanmar into the UK market via our Rotterdam office. The market response for our products has been overwhelming. We have formed prolific liaisons with some of the big players and retailors of UK.
